Plinth connects to a media server that you own and operate. We never see your data. We don't collect it, store it, or share it. Everything stays between your device and your server.
1. Who we are
Zielsdorf Solutions LLC

2. What information Plinth handles — and where it stays
Your server credentials
When you add a server in Plinth (the URL, your username, and the authentication token your server issues after login), that information is stored exclusively on your device in the iOS Keychain. It is never transmitted to Zielsdorf Solutions LLC or to any third party. It is only ever sent from your device directly to your own server when the app needs to authenticate or make a request.
Your preferences
Settings you choose in the app — such as your selected theme, appearance preferences, and library selections — are stored in UserDefaults on your device. They stay on your device and are not transmitted anywhere.
Your media and playback data
When you stream or download audio, the data travels directly between your device and your own server. Zielsdorf Solutions LLC is not in that path and never receives your media content or any information about what you are listening to.
When you play a track, Plinth may send a playback progress report (e.g., "played to position X") back to your server so that your server can mark content as played or partially played. This report goes only to your server — not to us.
When you download audio for offline playback, those files are saved to local storage on your device. They remain there until you delete them within the app or uninstall Plinth.
Purchases
Plinth offers an annual subscription and a lifetime purchase option via Apple's In-App Purchase system. All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple. We do not receive your payment card details, Apple ID, or any financial information. Apple's privacy policy governs how Apple handles your purchase data.
We do receive a non-reversible, anonymised receipt from Apple confirming whether a valid purchase exists, which is used only to unlock the app's paid features on your device.
3. What we do not collect
- We do not use any analytics SDKs (no Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, Amplitude, or similar).
- We do not use any advertising SDKs.
- We do not collect crash reports or diagnostic data.
- We do not require you to create an account with us.
- We do not store any of your data on our servers — we do not operate any backend servers for Plinth.
- We do not share any data with third parties, because we do not collect any data in the first place.
4. Third parties
The only third party involved in your use of Plinth is Apple, which processes In-App Purchases. We do not integrate any other third-party services, SDKs, or APIs.
5. Data retention
Because we do not collect your data, we have nothing to retain. Data you store locally (Keychain credentials, preferences, downloaded audio files) remains on your device until you remove the app or clear it yourself. We have no ability to access, modify, or delete your locally stored data remotely.
6. Children's privacy
Plinth does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information in connection with Plinth, please contact us at [email protected].
7. Your rights
California residents (CCPA / CPRA)
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act and California Privacy Rights Act, California residents have rights relating to personal information. Because Plinth does not collect, sell, or share personal information, there is nothing to disclose, delete, or opt out of. If you would like written confirmation of this, email us at [email protected] and we will respond within 45 days.
European Economic Area, UK, and Switzerland (GDPR / UK GDPR)
Because Plinth does not collect or process your personal data, the General Data Protection Regulation and its national equivalents do not impose obligations on us with respect to your use of this app. If you have questions about how your data is handled by your own Emby or Jellyfin server, please refer to the privacy documentation for those products.
All users
Regardless of where you are located, you may contact us at [email protected] with any privacy question. We will respond within a reasonable time.
8. Security
Credentials you enter in Plinth are stored in the iOS Keychain, which is the most secure local storage mechanism available on iOS. All network communication with your server should use HTTPS where possible. Plinth supports HTTP connections to allow for home network configurations that do not have valid TLS certificates, but we recommend configuring your server with HTTPS whenever feasible.
9. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Because we do not collect your contact information, we cannot notify you directly of changes.
