Most Plinth questions come down to your server connection. The quickest fixes are below — and if they don't help, email us and we'll get you sorted.

Email Support

We read every message. Including your device, iOS version, Plinth version, and server type helps us respond faster.

Getting started

How do I connect to my server?

Enter your server's full address (for example https://media.example.com:8096), then your username and password. Plinth automatically detects whether it's an Emby or Jellyfin server — you don't need to choose.

Can I connect to more than one server?

Yes. Plinth supports multiple servers; switch between them in Settings.

Connection problems

Plinth can't reach my server.

Check that the address includes http:// or https:// and the correct port. Confirm the server is reachable from the network your iPhone is on right now (try opening the same address in Safari). If you're away from home, your server needs to be safely reachable from the internet.

It warns the connection isn't secure.

Plinth prefers HTTPS. If your server only offers plain HTTP — common on a home network without a certificate — Plinth will ask you to confirm before sending your credentials. We recommend setting up HTTPS whenever you can.

My username and password are rejected.

On Emby, usernames are case-sensitive: enter it exactly as it appears on your server. Double-check the password too.

Playback & downloads

Downloaded music won't play offline.

Make sure the download finished — open the Downloads tab to confirm. Downloaded files stay on your device until you remove them in the app or delete Plinth.

Artwork or track length is missing on a download.

This was fixed in a recent update. Make sure you're on the latest version of Plinth; re-downloading the track will fill in the missing details.

Playlists

Playlists I create in Plinth don't appear on my server.

Playlists you create in Plinth sync back to your Emby server. Give the server a moment to register the new playlist; if it still doesn't appear, sign out and back in to refresh your session.

Subscription & billing

How does the subscription work?

Plinth offers an annual subscription and a one-time lifetime purchase, both through Apple's In-App Purchase. Manage or cancel a subscription in the iOS Settings app under your Apple ID → Subscriptions. Refund requests are handled by Apple.

Still stuck?

Email [email protected] and include your device model, iOS version, Plinth version, and your server type and version. The more detail, the faster we can help.

This support page covers the Plinth iOS app. For questions about the Emby or Jellyfin server software itself, please see those products' own documentation.
